Well, I was really lucky in this instance because Blythewood ran circles around my original expectations. While this was a YA novel that is the start caro, a series it still had everything I love about this author. I will definitely bltyhewood picking it up in the future! I nlythewood wish that it didn’t take me so long to finish it! Ava is an interesting character. I think when it comes to magic in a story, it’s always important to highlight the differences but also to stress that there are gray areas, even if the opinion is not popular.

Given the ones previous to this, explcit paranormal romances written under the pseudonym Juliet Dark, perhaps she’s dividing her work — some things appropriate for one name, some for the other. But since her mother passed Ava has struggled blythewoof pay the bills and life is hard. I feel like I’m in a Hitchcock film. The moody boarding school with endless secrets. Most of all, Blythewood made me eager to discuss the story with someone and desperate for the next book in the series.
Overall Blythewood is a new and refreshing take on the fey world.

I found the new take on the faerie world to be very interesting. Matilda Swift, the bow mistress. We learn that she’s the daughter of a woman who was glythewood wealthy but who ran away from home and works as a hat trimmer instead. We meet a lot of colorful characters: Definitely not a terrible book, but not my cup of tea.

If you enjoy fantasy, I highly recommend Carol Goodman’s Blythewood. It’s all a bit much and has Ava questioning her sanity, but she’s a survivor.
